Municipal Accountant
The Municipal Accountant leads the office in ensuring that financial transactions, reports, records, and supporting documents are properly reviewed, recorded, and maintained in accordance with government accounting and auditing rules.
Through its accounting and internal control functions, the Municipal Accounting Office helps safeguard public resources, support informed financial decisions, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Mandate
The Municipal Accounting Office is mandated to take charge of both the accounting and internal audit services of the LGU. It establishes and maintains internal control systems to ensure that resources are used legally and efficiently and are safeguarded against loss, wastage, and misuse. It prepares and submits accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the Municipal Mayor, the Sanggunian, the Commission on Audit, and other concerned agencies. It also reviews supporting documents before voucher preparation, prepares journals and analyses of obligations, monitors cash advances and liquidation, keeps simplified financial records for barangays, coordinates property, plant, and equipment records with concerned offices, and performs other duties required by law or ordinance.
