Municipal Health Officer

The Municipal Health Officer leads the office in implementing primary healthcare programs, monitoring diseases, promoting sanitation, conducting health information campaigns, and managing local health facilities such as rural health units and barangay health centers.

Through preventive care, public health programs, emergency health response, and community health education, the Municipal Health Office helps build a healthier, safer, and more resilient New Corella.

Mandate

The Municipal Health Office is mandated to foster a healthy community by providing accessible, quality, and comprehensive primary healthcare services and promoting a health-supportive environment for all constituents. It implements primary healthcare programs, including maternal and child health and disease control; monitors diseases; conducts outbreak investigations, contact tracing, and infection control measures; directs sanitary inspections of establishments; oversees hygienic conditions within the municipality; conducts health information campaigns; provides health intelligence services; advises the Municipal Mayor and local council on health matters; recommends public health ordinances; provides frontline health services during disasters and calamities; manages health facilities such as rural health units and barangay health centers; may act as medico-legal officer when necessary; and performs other duties required by law or ordinance.
