The Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator leads the office in preparing development plans, coordinating sectoral studies, monitoring program implementation, and providing technical assistance to LGU departments and barangays.

Through comprehensive planning, public consultation, and development coordination, the Municipal Planning & Development Office supports informed decision-making, sustainable land use, and inclusive growth for the municipality.

Mandate

The Municipal Planning & Development Office is mandated to guide and coordinate the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, integrated, and participatory development plans and policies for the LGU. It formulates economic, social, physical, and other development plans and policies for consideration by the Municipal Development Council and approval by the Sanggunian. It prepares key planning documents such as the Comprehensive Development Plan and Comprehensive Land Use Plan, coordinates sectoral plans and studies, monitors and evaluates development programs and projects, promotes public participation and consultation, analyzes fiscal patterns, administers zoning and land use regulations, issues clearances, provides technical assistance to other LGU offices and barangays, serves as the secretariat for the Local Development Council, and performs other duties required by law or ordinance.
