Municipal Vice Mayor / Presiding Officer

The Municipal Vice Mayor leads the Sangguniang Bayan as Presiding Officer and ensures that legislative sessions, proceedings, and related activities are conducted efficiently and with proper decorum.

Through legislative leadership, administrative support, policy coordination, and public engagement, the Office of the Municipal Vice Mayor helps strengthen local legislation, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and continuity of governance.

Mandate

The Office of the Municipal Vice Mayor is mandated to provide leadership and direction to the Sangguniang Bayan for the prompt, judicious, and effective enactment of responsive legislative measures for the general welfare of the municipality. It ensures that sessions and proceedings are conducted efficiently, maintains order and decorum, initiates and consolidates legislative measures that support local development priorities, supports the oversight function of the Sangguniang Bayan, ensures technical support and documentation for legislative work, provides administrative assistance to SB members and staff, ensures lawful succession in cases of vacancy in the Mayor’s Office, supports prudent appropriation and use of LGU resources, promotes open governance by making legislative information accessible to the public, and performs other duties required by law or ordinance.
