Election Officer / COMELEC Representative

The Election Officer or assigned COMELEC representative leads the local election office in implementing election-related programs, voter registration activities, election preparations, public information support, and coordination with the Municipal Government, barangays, schools, organizations, and the voting public.

Through voter assistance, election administration, public information, and coordination with partner agencies, the Commission on Elections helps uphold the integrity of the electoral process and supports the right of every qualified citizen to participate in democratic governance.

Mandate

The Commission on Elections is mandated to enforce and administer all laws and regulations related to the conduct of elections, plebiscites, initiatives, referenda, and recall. It supports the protection of the right to vote, supervises election processes, conducts voter registration activities, manages election-related records and procedures, provides voter information and assistance, coordinates election activities with concerned offices and agencies, and helps ensure that elections are conducted in a free, fair, honest, peaceful, and orderly manner.

The Commission on Elections aims to achieve credible and orderly elections, accurate voter registration records, improved voter awareness, accessible election services, stronger coordination with the LGU and barangays, increased public trust in the electoral process, and effective protection of the people’s right to vote.
